SMTP can use Sender profiles (database) or fallback .env.

Sender profiles

Edit SMTP and defaults per business. Passwords stay on the server; leave blank when saving to keep the current password.

Gmail via Google (no SMTP app password): In Google Cloud Console, create or pick a project, enable Gmail API, configure the OAuth consent screen, then create an OAuth 2.0 Client ID (Web application). Add this exact redirect URI under "Authorized redirect URIs": http://localhost:3847/api/auth/google/callback Use your real public URL if you host elsewhere, set the same value as GOOGLE_OAUTH_REDIRECT_URI in server .env, and add that URI in Google Cloud. Put GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID and GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET in .env and restart the server. Then select a profile and click Sign in with Google. Reply detection: OAuth now requests read-only Gmail access for IMAP inbox checks. If you linked Google before this change, sign in again once so the new scope is granted.
